Cinematic aerial filming on set
On a production, the drone is another camera with its own blocking. We review the script or shot list with the director and cinematographer, then plan each move: height, speed, direction, start and end frames, and how the shot connects to the ground coverage. For complex moves, a two-person team splits roles, with the pilot flying and a camera operator controlling the gimbal and framing. That setup allows smoother, more precise shots, such as tracking a vehicle while panning to reveal a landscape. We rehearse moves when possible and fly multiple takes so the editor has options. Shots can be captured in log profiles for grading, matched to your frame rate, and logged with notes so post-production can find each take quickly. Safety briefings with the crew happen before the first flight.
