We discuss your skill level and favorite sections in advance, then position ourselves at the spots that suit your riding. A short warm-up lap lets us check angles before the real laps begin, so no good pass is wasted.
Races bring energy that practice days cannot match: packed starting gates, tight battles, podium celebrations, and the chaos of the pits. For teams, we cover riders across motos, capture sponsor branding on bikes and gear, and document behind-the-scenes moments like mechanics working between races and riders preparing in the truck.
Race coverage requires coordination with organizers and track officials. We follow photographer zones, wear high-visibility gear when required, check in with flaggers, and stay alert at all times. Riders and families can request specific motos or classes, and teams can arrange coverage across a full event. If your event needs motion as well as stills, our sports videographer team can capture race footage and highlight edits alongside the photography.
Track safety is the first priority. We never stand in landing zones, on the outside of blind corners, or anywhere officials have closed. We position behind barriers or in approved areas and keep our eyes on the track even when the camera is down.
Technically, motocross requires fast shutter speeds to freeze action, or slower panning shots to blur the background and show speed. We use both. Colorado's strong sunlight makes for crisp images, but midday light can create harsh shadows under helmets, so early morning and late afternoon sessions often look best.
