Youth sports photography in Denver captures years that go by fast. One season a child is chasing a soccer ball in a pack, a few seasons later they are leading the team or chasing a college roster spot. Parents want those moments preserved, leagues want images for registration and sponsors, and older athletes need highlight footage that shows coaches what they can do.
Rocky Mountain Photography was founded in 2016 by brothers Jeff and Nick Perry in Denver. We photograph soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, hockey, football, swimming, and track for leagues, clubs, schools, and tournaments across the Front Range. We also work with adult leagues, races, and amateur athletes who want professional sports photography of their own events.
Game action and tournament coverage
Action photography is about anticipation. Our photographers learn the flow of each sport, positioning for breakaways, plays at the plate, spikes at the net, and finishes at the line. Fast lenses and high shutter speeds freeze motion and blur distracting backgrounds, even in dim gyms and ice rinks. We capture every player on the roster when that is part of the agreement, plus celebrations, coaches, and fans. For tournaments, we can staff multiple fields or courts and organize galleries by team and game so families find their child quickly. Images are edited for consistent color and exposure, with sizes ready for printing, social media, and team websites. Leagues and clubs often use action images for registration campaigns, sponsor banners, and newsletters. For events with awards or banquets, we also cover the ceremony with the same approach used in our awards ceremony work.
Team photos and individual portraits
Picture day photos are a tradition for most youth leagues, and we make them efficient and organized. We set up a portrait station at the field or gym, photograph each player individually, and assemble team photos in a quick, well-planned sequence so coaches are not waiting around. Lighting is consistent across the roster, so every player looks their best. Individual portraits can be styled for traditional prints, memory mates, banners, or digital use. Older athletes building a recruiting profile benefit from a clean portrait in uniform plus a few action shots that show skill. Schools and clubs can also book senior athlete sessions with more creative lighting and locations. For adult athletes, trainers, and gyms, our fitness photographer page covers studio and training sessions, and our sports video production team produces longer form promotional content.
Sports videography and highlight reels
For athletes looking at the next level, video often matters more than photos. Our sports videographers film full games or targeted footage of specific players, then edit highlight reels that show skills, decision making, and game impact. Reels are delivered in formats recruiting platforms and coaches commonly request, with player identification at the start. Teams and clubs use game video for coaching review, season recap videos for banquets, and promotional content for tryouts and sponsors. Drone footage from our Part 107-certified, insured pilots can add aerial views of tournaments and field complexes where airspace and venue rules allow, though we never fly over players or spectators. Leagues and tournament directors can request a quote for season-long coverage, while families can book individual sessions. Next-day delivery is available on many photo shoots, and tournament galleries can be organized by team and game for quick browsing.
