What a freelance video shoot day covers
Most single-shooter bookings fall into a few categories. Interviews need a well-lit subject, clean lavalier or boom audio, and a thoughtful background. B-roll means capturing supporting footage of people working, spaces, products, and details that an editor can cut against narration. Event coverage captures keynotes, panels, crowd energy, and sponsor moments. Second camera work supports another crew with alternate angles.
Before the day, we confirm a short brief: what you need, how the footage will be used, any shot list or brand guidelines, and practical details like parking, access, and contacts on site. During the shoot, the operator checks in with your producer or point of contact, flags issues early, and keeps a record of key moments. That small amount of structure makes a big difference when someone else will be editing the footage.
