Quick answer
Rocky Mountain Photography provides long term time lapse service in Denver for construction projects that run months or years. We scout camera positions, install weather-ready cameras with reliable power, capture frames during work hours, maintain equipment through Colorado seasons, and deliver milestone edits plus a final film and still frames for reports and marketing.
Long term time lapse is the most complete way to show a building's entire life during construction. From the first excavator to the final landscaping, a fixed camera watches the site every working day, and the finished film compresses that journey into a couple of minutes. Owners show it at grand openings, contractors use it to win work, and project teams finally see the whole effort at once.
Rocky Mountain Photography, founded in Denver in 2016 by brothers Jeff and Nick Perry, manages long-term construction timelapse projects across Colorado. A camera that runs for many months needs good planning, solid mounting, and regular care, especially with Front Range hail, wind, snow, and summer heat. We handle the equipment from scouting to removal, so your team only has to watch the progress.
Position is the most important decision in a long-term timelapse, because it cannot easily change later. We review the site plan, renderings, and schedule to understand how the building will grow, then scout options such as neighboring rooftops, light poles, tall fences, or site structures. The ideal spot shows the whole footprint, keeps the camera stable, stays clear of future construction that might block the view, and provides access for maintenance. Many projects use two cameras: a wide view of the entire site and a closer or alternate angle of a key elevation. Mounts on neighboring property need owner permission, which we help arrange. We also plan for the final shot, so the finished building looks good from the camera's angle at completion, not just during excavation.

Long-term cameras use weather-ready housings, durable mounts, and reliable power from site power or a solar setup sized for winter days. Many include cellular connectivity so we can confirm the camera is working and, where requested, provide remote viewing through our live monitoring option. Capture schedules usually follow working hours, with frames at regular intervals, and can be adjusted for night work or weekend activity. Maintenance visits clean lenses, check mounts and power, and address any issues from storms or site changes. If the camera needs to move, for example when a neighboring building blocks the view, we plan the change to keep the footage as consistent as possible. At project end, we remove the equipment and restore the mounting location.

During the project, we can deliver milestone edits at key points, such as foundations complete, structure topped out, and building dried in, which are useful for owner updates, investor meetings, and social media. At completion, the full archive becomes a final film with music, titles, logos, and on-screen dates. Frames with rain on the lens, heavy shadows, or darkness are removed, and flicker is smoothed so the film plays cleanly. Selected still frames serve as progress photos. Many clients add drone flyovers and ground footage for a richer final piece, produced through our construction project video team. Files arrive as MP4s for web and presentations. For single-day jobs, our day-of-work timelapse is a better fit. Drafts are shared for review before each final export.
